Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, known professionally as Beyoncé, is an American singer, songwriter, actress and businesswoman. She was born on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas. Beyoncé rose to fame as the lead singer of the R&B group Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.

After the group disbanded in 2006, Beyoncé launched her solo career, releasing her debut album “Dangerously in Love” in 2003.
